Dropping the Feed Dogs

The feed dogs can be lowered for sewing on buttons,

free motion quilting, etc.

Shift the drop feed lever toward you to lower the feed

dogs.

Shift the drop feed lever away from you to raise the feed

dogs, it will return to the up position when you start the

machine.

NOTE:

If you start the machine with the feed dogs lowered, a

message will appear on the visual touch screen.

Using the Straight Stitch Needle Plate

The straight stitch needle plate has three holes where the

needle enters. The straight stitch needle plate is helpful

to hold and support the fabric when the needle pierces

the fabric. Use the straight stitch needle plate for better

results.

It is recommended to use straight stitch needle plate to

select patterns U1 to U3 when sewing straight stitches.

Refer to page 33 for how to attach the straight stitch

needle plate.

The patterns not suitable for the straight stitch needle

plate are grayed out.
