Corded buttonhole

Machine settings

Pattern 23 (Buttonhole)

Thread tension: AUTO

Presser foot: Automatic buttonhole foot R

Foot pressure: 7

With the automatic buttonhole foot R raised, hook the

filler cord on the spur at the back of the buttonhole foot

1 Spur

Bring the ends of the cord toward you under the

buttonhole foot clearing the front end.

Hook the ends of the filler cord into the forks on the front

of the buttonhole foot to hold them tight.

2 Forks

To sew a corded buttonhole, follow the same procedure

as a sensor buttonhole.

Lower the needle into the fabric where the buttonhole will

start and start sewing.

The sewing procedure is the same as the square

(sensor) buttonhole.

Remove the fabric from the machine.

Cut the filler cord at both ends.

To cut the buttonhole opening, refer to page 53.

NOTE:

Set the stitch width in accordance with the thickness of

filler cord used.
