5.3 Windows Firewall Settings
The application and the configurator must be able to communicate through the
firewall of the local PC. When the application or the configurator are run the first
time, the operation system asks for permission to communicate through the
firewall. To assign the permission to the application and the configurator, local
administrator rights are necessary.
Another way to set the permission is via the Control Panel. Go to Control Panel
– System and Security – Windows Defender Firewall – Allowed apps, select
the application or the configurator and make the appropriate settings. To avoid
the blocking of CAN@net II Configurator by the Windows Firewall, the following
settings must be ensured.
5.3.1 CAN@net II/VCI
Configuration Connection:
• CAN@net II/VCI: 15000/udp
• PC: 15001/udp
VCI Connection:
• CAN@net II/VCI: 15000/tcp, 15001/tcp
• PC: 1024-65535/tcp
The PC must get access to the ports 15000/tcp and 15001/tcp of the CAN@net
II/VCI from any port (1024-65535). From its ports 15000/tcp and 15001/tcp the
CAN@net II must get access to the PC ports 1024-65535.
5.3.2 CAN@net II/Generic
The CAN@net II/Generic uses the port 19227/tcp. The PC must get access to
the port 19227/tcp of the CAN@net II from any port (1024-65535). From its port
19227/tcp the CAN@net II must get access to the PC ports 1024-65535.
