Before you begin
The rst thing to do is to take measurements. Regardless of the type
of sink you are going to mount, it is essential to check that the hole
where it will go ts perfectly with the dimensions of the sink.
This step should be as accurate as possible. No matter what sealing
method you use, if there is a gap between the recess and the sink,
leaks are almost guaranteed.
Also, don’t forget to turn off the water shut-off before starting any
plumbing work. And remember to turn it on when you nish, to check
that everything is working properly.
Placing the sink
When you verify that the sink ts properly into its recess, place it, ma-
king sure that it rests evenly on all edges. It is also important to check
that it is level, otherwise you may encounter difculties when insta-
lling the faucet or siphon later.
Built-in sink: If a sealing gasket is included, install it now. This piece
prevents water from seeping in. If it does not, apply a line of silicone
around the rim for the same purpose.
Undermount sink: Leave the fasteners ready, which you will use to
secure it in the next step.
