9.3.3.1 Use Prioritized Startup
The device supports the Prioritized Startup function.
To activate the Prioritized Startup function:
Requirements:
ü Device is integrated in PROFINET project.
u Open the [Device view].
u Click on the module [PN_IO] (slot 1, subslot X1).
w The [General] tab displays general configuration options.
u Select [Advanced options] > [Interface options].
u Activate the [Prioritized startup] option.
w The Fast Startup function has been activated.
9.3.3.2 Use Fast Startup
The device supports the Fast Startup function (FSU).
Achieving the guaranteed fast startup time depends on the complexity and elements used in the
PROFINET network.
To activate the Fast Startup function:
Requirements:
ü Device is integrated in PROFINET project.
ü The Fast Startup function has been activated.
u Open the [Device view].
w The [Device overview] tab displays the device structure.
u Click on the module [PN_IO] (slot 1, subslot X1).
w The [General] tab displays general configuration options.
u Select [Advanced options] > [X21 [X1 P1 R]] > [Port options].
u In the list [Transmission rate / duplex], select the value [TP 100Mbps full duplex]. The selected
value must match the transmission rate of the network partner.
u Disable the option [Enable autonegotiation].
w The transmission rate of Ethernet port 1 is permanently set.
u Repeat steps for Ethernet port 2 ([X22 [X1 P2 R]]).
w The transmission rate of Ethernet port 2 is permanently set.
w The Fast Startup function is activated for PROFINET IO ports.
9.3.4 Configuring the input filters
u Observe the notes on input filters: Digital input filters (Ò/9)
The digital input filters of ports X5...X8 are configured via the [8DO / 8DI Module] and its submodule:
• Submodule: 8DO/8DI + qualifier (Ò/62)
The module [8DO/8DI Module] is permanently assigned to slot 1.
