u In the field [Comm Format], select the value [Data – INT].
u Configure the IP settings of the device.
u Enter the connection settings in the [Connection Parameters] section.
u Click [OK].
w The device node is added to the project tree.
w The device is configured for operation in independent mode.
Transferring the configuration to the device
To transfer the configuration to the device:
Requirements:
ü The project is open.
ü The device has been configured.
u Select [Communications] > [Download].
w RSLogix 5000 loads the project to the controller.
w The configuration is saved on the device and activated.
w The control changes to Run Mode.
9.4.3 Accessing the process data
The cyclic process data (inputs, outputs) of the device are transmitted in the controller tags. The type
and scope of the process data depend on the Input Assembly Instances (inputs) and Output Assembly
Instances selected during the device configuration.
u To check the validity of the cyclic process data, evaluate the Port Qualifier Information (PQI):
If the EtherNet/IP connection is interrupted, the Port Qualifier Information (PQI) indicates that
the process data is valid.
w Unintended effects on the control process
u Take suitable measures to detect the interruption of the EtherNet/IP connection.
Requirements:
ü The device has been integrated into the project.
ü The device has been configured.
ü The project is open.
u In the [Controller Organizer]: double-click on the [Controller Tags] node.
w The [Controller Tags] window appears.
w The structure [AL1x2x.I] > [AL1x2x.I:Data] contains the cyclic input data.
w The structure [AL1x2x.O] > [AL1x2x.O:Data] contains the cyclic output data.
u If required: link the cyclic input and output data with the application variables.
u Save the project.
9.4.4 Accessing diagnostic and status information
Diagnostic and status information is transferred in the cyclic input data (Input Assembly).
