u Select the [New Module…] menu item.
w A dialogue window appears.
u Select AL1921 and click [Create].
w The [New module] window appears.
u Configure the IP settings of the device.
u Save the project.
Setting the connection type
The connection type determines which object instances of Configuration Assembly (parameters), Input
Assembly (input data) and Output Assembly (output data) are used.

The device only supports an active connection of the type Exclusive Owner. Connections of
type Listen only can be selected as the second active connection.
To set the connection type:
Requirements:
ü The project is open.
ü The device has been added to the project using the EDS.
u In the Controller Organizer: double-click on the [AL1x2x] node.
w A dialogue window appears.
u Click [Change…].
w The [Module Definition] window appears.

u Select the requested connection from the list [Connections].
u If necessary, set the data type to [INT].
u Click [OK] to adopt the changes.
w Based on the selected connection type, RSLogix 5000 generates the Controller Tags of the device
(Configuration, Input, Output).
Configuring the device
The device configuration includes the configuration of the IO-Link master and the IO-Link ports.
