2 Safety
14 B-MC I/T - 01/23-1 - EHG-0016-03EN
2.2 General
Do not fix any objects to the double floor of the vehicle. Do not drill
any holes into the double floor nor perform any other interventions.
Such activities change the statics of the vehicle and may endanger its
safety. All warranty obligations will lapse in the event of an infringe-
ment.
The oxygen in the vehicle interior is used up by breathing and the use
of gas operated appliances. That is why the used air must be replaced
permanently. For this purpose, forced ventilation options (e.g. sky-
lights with forced ventilation, mushroom-shaped vents or floor vents)
are fitted to the vehicle. Never cover or block forced ventilations from
the inside or outside with objects such as e.g. a winter mat. Keep
forced ventilations clear of snow and leaves. There is a danger of suf-
focation due to increased CO
2
levels.
Do not use storage spaces or rear garages as places for people or
animals to stay or sleep in. These spaces are not forced-air ventilated.
There is a danger of suffocation due to oxygen deprivation or exhaust
from the heater.
Observe the headroom of the doors.
As far as the fitted appliances (heater, cooker, refrigerator, etc.) and the
base vehicle (engine, brakes, etc.) are concerned, the instruction manu-
als are authoritative. It is imperative that they be observed.
Fitting accessories or special equipment can alter the dimensions,
weight and road behaviour of the vehicle. Some of the add-on parts
must be entered in the vehicle documents.
Only use wheel rims and tyres which are approved for the vehicle. Infor-
mation concerning the size of the approved wheel rims and tyres is in-
cluded in the vehicle documents or can be obtained from authorised
dealers and service centres.
Firmly apply the handbrake when parking the vehicle.
If the maximum permissible gross weight of the vehicle exceeds 4 ton-
nes, a wheel chock must be used when parking on gradients. The wheel
chock is provided as standard for vehicles with a maximum permissible
gross weight exceeding 4 tonnes.
When leaving the vehicle, it is imperative that all doors, external flaps
and windows are closed.
Always carry the legally prescribed equipment (e.g. first aid kit, warning
vest, hazard warning triangle etc.) with you. The regulations of the host
country apply when travelling abroad.
The vehicle may only be driven by drivers who hold a driving licence
which is valid for the respective vehicle class.
When selling the vehicle, hand over all instruction manuals for the ve-
hicle and the fitted appliances.
