1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 39).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 39).
3. Remove the battery (see Removing and reinstalling the same battery on page 33).
NOTE: Models with UMA graphics memory include only one fan.
Remove the fan:
1. Remove the power connector cable and antenna cable from the clips on the side of the fan (1).
2. Disconnect the fan cables from the system board (2).
3. Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 3.5 screws (3) that secure each fan to the computer, and then
remove the fans (4).
To install the fans, reverse this procedure.
Fingerprint reader (select products only)
To remove the fingerprint reader, use this procedure and illustration.
