Cleaning the oven
Page EN-23
Opening the oven door by force will
damage the oven!
The oven door locks during the pyro
-
lytic self-cleaning process. The locking
mechanism will release automatically
once the interior of the appliance is suf
-
ficiently cooled off.
 ■ Never attempt to open the oven door
by force either during the pyrolyt
-
ic process or before the cooling-off
phase has ended.
Generally speaking, the term “pyrolysis” de-
scribes dissolving substances by applying
heat. Thanks to its pyrolytic self-cleaning
function, your oven can be effectively cleaned
of any contaminants.
Once the pyrolytic function has been acti-
vated, the cooking compartment heats up to
450 °C – contaminants don’t stand a chance.
They are reduced to ash which can be easily
wiped away afterwards.
Pyrolytic cleaning uses a lot of energy and
is therefore a good option only when residue
cannot be easily removed with a sponge and
water even after steam cleaning.
Before you start pyrolysis, make sure that the
cooking compartment is completely empty
(i.e. no oven rack, baking tray, dripping pan,
baking tray guides, telescopic runners or oth-
er objects in the cooking compartment).
1. Completely empty the cooking compart-
ment. Remove the baking tray guides
(see „Removing and cleaning baking tray
guides“ auf Seite EN-24).
2. Remove large bits of food or other con-
taminants from the cooking compartment.
If the cooking compartment door is still
open when pyrolysis is started, the display
will read
door
.
3. Close the cooking compartment door.
4. Tap the sensor.
The display shows the current function and
the standard temperature.
5. Repeatedly tap on the sensor
 until
the display shows the function
pyЙ
and the time
2:00
hr
.
6. Start the cleaning process by pressing the
sensor .
The timer begins counting down in minutes.
The bars on the display will also change.
• To stop the cleaning process, press the
 button.
After the pyrolytic process has finished,
the fan will continue to run for another
hour. This is necessary in order for the fan to
sufficiently cool the interior of the appliance.
