Risks in handling

appliances
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result
in severe injury or death.
■ Only use the appliance in-
doors. Do not use in wet
rooms or in the rain.
■ Never expose the appliance
to the weather.
■ Connect the appliance only
if the mains voltage at the
socket corresponds to that
indicated on the type plate.
■ Do not operate or continue
to operate the appliance if
it
– has visible damage,
– starts smoking or there is
a smell of burning,
– makes unfamiliar noises.
In such cases, disconnect
the appliance from the
power supply. Switch off
the appliance and have it
repaired (see chapter “Ser-
vice”).
■ If the supply cord is dam-
aged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly
qualifi ed persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
■ We recommend using a
pulse-sensitive fault current
switch (residual current op-
erated circuit-breaker).
■ Connect the appliance
only to an easily accessi-
ble socket, to allow you to
disconnect it quickly from
the mains in the event of a
fault.
■ Keep the appliance, mains
plug and supply cord away
from naked fl ames and hot
surfaces.
■ Do not kink, pinch or run
over the supply cord with
the appliance. This can re-
sult in a break in the cable.
■ Never leave the appli-
ance unattended while the
mains plug is connected to
the socket.
■ Never pull the mains plug
out of the socket by the
