■ Oven illumination light:
– Ensure that the appliance is
switched off before replacing the
lamp to avoid the possibility of
electric shock.
– To replace the oven lighting, first
switch off the oven then unscrew
and/or switch off the fuses.
– Replace the light bulb only when
the oven is no longer hot.
– Do not stare at the hob elements.
Risks when handling the
appliance
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The appliance and its accessible parts
become hot during use. Care should be
taken to avoid touching heating ele-
ments.
■ Hob
– The solid plates get very hot during
operation and will remain hot after
they are switched off.
– Hot steam can flow from the ex-
haust hood (ventilation) when the
oven is in use.
– Metallic objects such as knives,
forks, spoons and lids should not
be placed on the hob surface since
they can get hot.
■ Oven
– Never pour water directly into the
hot oven. The steam can cause
scalding and damage the enamel.
– Allow hot water from the oven to
cool before pouring it out.
– Never leave the oven unattended
while grilling. Keep children away!
■ Allow the solid plates and oven to
cool completely before cleaning.
Fire hazard!
■ Hob
Unattended cooking on a hob with
fat and oil can be dangerous and
may result in fi re.
– NEVER try to extinguish a fire with
water, but switch off the appliance
and then cover flame e.g. with a lid
or a fire blanket.
– If you are preparing foods using al-
cohol, do not leave the cooker unat-
tended! Food may ignite of its own
accord.
– Danger of fire: do not store items
on the cooking surfaces
– The cooking process has to be su-
pervised. A short term cooking
process has to be supervised con-
tinously.
– Use only hob guards designed by
the manufacturer of the cooking
appliance or indicated by the man-
ufacturer of the appliance in the
instructions for use as suitable or
hob guards incorporated in the ap-
pliance. The use of inappropriate
guards can cause accidents.
■ Oven
– Only ever operate the oven with the
oven door closed.
– Do not cover cakes or roasts be-
ing cooked in the oven with baking
parchment. Do not allow food, bak-
ing parchment and aluminium foil
to come into contact with the heat-
ing elements.
– Do not place food to be grilled too
far back near the end of the heat-
ing element. It is particularly hot
there. Fatty foods can catch fire.
