properties on the product's type plate.
5. Connection
Warning
•Only operate the product from an approved
socket that is connected to the public power
supply.The socket must be installed close to
the product and must be easily accessible.
•Disconnect the product from the power
supply using the On/Off switch –ifthis is
not available, unplug the power cordfrom
the socket.
•Ifusing amulti-socket power strip, make
surethat the total power consumption of all
connected devices does not exceed the power
strip's maximum throughput rating.
•Ifyou will not be using the product for a
prolonged period, disconnect it from mains
power.
Beforedevices areconnected, these devices must
all be switched on. The surge arrester must only be
connected between the consumer and aprotective
contact socket. In the ready-to-use state, the control
light for surge protection lights up.
Warning
•Ifthe control light on the surge arrester does
not light up after switch-on, the surge arrester
is faulty.Itmust not be used and must be
replaced by anew surge arrester.
6. Care and maintenance
Note
Disconnect the device from the mains before
cleaning and during prolonged periods of
non-use.
•Only clean this product with aslightly damp,
lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning
agents.
•Ensurethat no water is able to enter the product.
7. Warranty disclaimer
Hama GmbH &CoKG assumes no liability and
provides no warranty for damage resulting from
improper installation/mounting, improper use of
the product or from failuretoobserve the operating
instructions and/or safety notes.
8. Euro 20 million insurance cover
Insurance cover of up to Euro20million for personal
and property damage as part of our product liability
insurance. Essential for this is the proper use of
the products (note the safety instructions) and
evidence that the damage can be attributed to
failuretoprovide the described safety function. (note
the technical data on the type plate and in these
operating instructions)
