9.4 Safety for specific groups of people

Keep children under 8 years of age away from
the mains power cable of the appliance.

Keep children away from the packaging
materials.
DANGER TO THE LIVES OF CHILDREN!
• This appliance can be used by children
above 8 years of age, and by persons
with limited physical, sensory or
mental aptitude or lack of experience
and/or knowledge if they are
supervised or have been instructed in
the safe use of the appliance and
understand the associated hazards.
• Children must not be allowed to play
with the appliance. Keep small children
(under 8 years) away from the
appliance.
• Cleaning and servicing by the user
must not be carried out by children
unless they are supervised.
• Children may only use this appliance if
they have been trained. They must be
able to operate the appliance correctly
and understand the dangers referred
to in the instruction manual.
9.5 Residual risks
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD!
• Never touch the mains plug on the
mains power cable with wet or damp
hands when plugging it in or
unplugging it.
• Install and connect the appliance only
in accordance with the description in
the instruction manual.
• In an emergency, immediately
disconnect the power supply with the
switch on the fuse box.
• Before any cleaning or maintenance
procedure, disconnect the power
supply with the switch on the fuse box.
• A damaged mains power cable must
be replaced by our After Sales Service
without delay.
• If the mains power cable or mains plug
is damaged, do not use the appliance
any more.
• Do not carry out any work on the
appliance other than the cleaning and
service work described in this
instruction manual.
FIRE HAZARD!
An inadequate circulation of air can cause a
build-up of heat that can lead to a fire.
It is essential to observe the prescribed
clearances for the rear, side and top of the
appliance (see chapter Minimum Clearances).
Keep the compressor and condenser (depending
on model) free of dust and objects.
9.6 General safety instructions
Always switch the appliance off after use.
In the case of an emergency, switch off the fuse
immediately.
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
• Never touch an electrical appliance
when your hands or feet are wet or
when you are barefoot.
• Never use an electrical appliance
outdoors.
• The installation work and electrical
cabling may only be carried out by
professionals in accordance with all the
relevant regulations and standards
applicable in your country, including
the fire protection measures. The
appliance must be installed by
qualified personnel or technicians.
• Please never carry out this work
yourself.
• If the minimum clearances are not
observed, there is danger to people
and the appliance.
• The electrical safety of this appliance
is only guaranteed when it is
connected to a properly earthed
system and complies with the
electrical safety standards.
• A damaged power supply cable must
be replaced by the supplier, dealer or
