PURPOSE
The straight grinder is a battery-powered hand-held power tool. The
machine is driven by a brushless motor, the motor rotation is transmitted
linearly and directly to the spindle.
A grinder can only be used for grinding. This type of power tool is used to
remove all types of burrs from the surface of metal, stone, ceramic, plastic
parts, surface treatment of welds, shaping of material, machining of holes.
Areas of application for the straight grinder include all kinds of
construction, repair or modelling work with the aforementioned materials.
• The straight grinder can be used with work tools mounted on a mandrel
of the appropriate diameter and length and dedicated to work on this
type of machine
• Gears, abrasive discs or cutting discs should not be attached to the
machine. Tools, designed for use with any other type of grinder, are not
suitable for use with the straight grinder.
• The unit is designed for dry operation only.
• Do not misuse the power tool.
OPERATION OF THE DEVICE
Place of work
Keep the work area well lit and clean. Disorder and poor lighting can be
causes of accidents.
Do not work with power tools in environments with an increased risk of
explosion, containing flammable liquids, gases or vapours. Power tools
generate sparks that can cause a fire when in contact with flammable
gases or vapours.
Keep children and bystanders out of the work area. Loss of concentration
may result in loss of control of the tool.
INSTALLATION OF ACCESSORIES
ATTENTION! All operation of the grinder must be carried out with the
battery disconnected, it must be removed from the socket!
Assembly of equipment in the toolholder
Before placing the work tool in the holder fig.A1, the clamping nut must
be loosened. To do this, hold the spindle fig.B10 with one spanner and
loosen the clamping nut fig.B9 with the other. The nut should not be
completely removed from the holder. Place the spindle of the working tool
in the holder fig.B8. The gap between the working part of the accessory
and the tool holder must not be more than 8 mm.
NOTE: at least half of the accessory shank is inside the tool holder.
Removal of the accessory is possible after loosening the retaining nut and
is done in reverse order
NOTE: The accessory may be hot immediately after use. Allow it to cool
down on its own before dismantling.
ATTENTION: Do not use accessories with a diameter larger than
specified in this manual.
TOOL OPERATION
Starting and stopping the grinder
When starting the sander, hold it with both hands fig.C3 by the handles
fig.A2 and fig.A4 or by the insulated parts of the housing and make sure
the accessory does not touch any material, object. The direction of rotation
of the spindle is indicated by an arrow on the housing fig.A2. Start the
sander by pressing and holding the rear part of the switch and then
pushing it forward fig.B1. The switch can be locked in the front position
fig.C2b which can be helpful during continuous operation.
ATTENTION: After each prolonged period of inactivity, the sander should
be started, and held in this position for 20-30 seconds while observing the
sander. Observe whether there are any abnormal noises, excessive noise
or excessive vibration. If no abnormal operating symptoms are observed,
it is safe to operate. The tool is switched off by releasing pressure on the
switch or, if it was locked, by pressing the back of the switch button Fig.
B2. The button will withdraw automatically, the accessory may continue to
rotate in the spindle for some time after the switch is released. The tool
can only be put down once the accessory has come to a complete stop.
SPEED CONTROL
Speed adjustment is only possible when the grinder is running. The speed
is adjusted in increments of 6 predefined speeds. To change gear, press
the fig.B7 button, the lights next to the gear number will be illuminated in
sequence. The higher the gear number, the higher the speed. When the
highest speed is reached, another press of the button will switch to the
gear with the lowest speed. Lower gears will illuminate the lights in green
and higher gears will illuminate the lights in red.
The unit has a memory of the last speed setting both when the unit is
switched off and when the battery is removed.
USE OF THE GRINDER
Insert the battery pack into the socket Figure A6 of the power supply with
the contacts facing the inside of the tool until you hear a distinct click
indicating correct installation of the battery pack. This ensures that the
battery pack will not slide out during operation. To disconnect the battery
pack, press the battery pack latch and then slide it out of the socket Figure
A6.
GRINDING WORK
In continuous operation, the heat build-up of the sander and tool should
be monitored and breaks taken as the temperature rises. In order to
prevent the motor from overheating, it is advisable to take frequent breaks
from the sander and keep the ventilation slots clear. When using the
grinder, do not exert too much pressure on the workpiece and do not make
sudden movements so as not to damage the attached accessory or the
grinder itself. When drilling or milling in steel or aluminium, tools can be
cooled with emulsifying oil or a coolant recommended for the specific
material, while the use of coolant is not recommended when working in
brass. In the final phase of drilling through holes, the pressure on the drill
bit should be reduced in order to avoid breakage or jamming. Once the
drill is jammed, the tool should be switched off immediately. Exerting a lot
of pressure on the tool or an inappropriate choice of speed for the type of
work will cause the tool to overload, which can be recognised by the
considerable heating of the outer surfaces of the body. Do not overload
the tool, the temperature of the outer surfaces must never exceed 60°C
When work is complete, switch off the tool, disconnect the battery and
inspect and maintain the grinder.
MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
ATTENTION! Before adjusting, servicing or maintaining the tool, unplug
the tool from the mains socket. After finishing work, check the technical
condition of the power tool by an external visual inspection and
assessment of: the body and handle, battery pack, operation of the switch,
patency of ventilation slots, loudness of bearings and gears, starting and
evenness of operation.
After finishing work, the housing, ventilation slots, switches, auxiliary
handle and guards should be cleaned, e.g. with an air jet (pressure not
exceeding 0.3 MPa), brush or dry cloth without the use of chemicals and
cleaning fluids. In the case of more severe soiling, a mild detergent may
be used. Pay special attention to prevent moisture from entering the
interior of the unit, Clean accessories and handles with a dry clean cloth.
During the warranty period, the user may not reassemble the power tool
or replace any components or subassemblies, as this will void the warranty
rights. Any abnormalities observed during inspection, or during operation,
are a signal for repair at a service centre.
