Aperture ring lock release
Aperture click switch Aperture ring
The Aperture Ring
Rotate the lens aperture ring to choose
the aperture (f-number).
A A (
): Set aperture to the value cho-
sen automatically by the camera.
B Other values ( ): Set aperture to
the selected value.
R To select A, or to select another value after selecting A, press
the aperture ring lock release while rotating the aperture ring.
The Aperture Click Switch
Slide the aperture click switch to OFF to
make the clicking sound disappear and to
rotate the aperture ring more smoothly.
Zoom
Rotate the zoom ring left to zoom out, re-
ducing magni cation and increasing the
area visible in the frame. Rotate the ring
right to zoom in, increasing magni cation
so that the subject occupies more of the
frame.
Q Using the zoom ring while the lens is wet makes it easier for
water to fi nd its way inside the lens. Wipe any water from the
lens before using the zoom ring.
