8. CONTROLS AND SETTINGS: EXTERNAL WATER
DISPENSER MODEL - TYPE 2, TYPE 3
Switching On/Off
To switch on the appliance, connect the power cord to the outlet.
To switch off the appliance, disconnect the power cord from the outlet.

Lock button
The Lock prevents the display from unintended use. Press and hold the Lock
button for 3 seconds to enable/disable.
While Lock is enabled, you cannot change settings on the display. Dispensing
ice and water is disabled. When you interact with the display, the indicator
flashes, and an audible warning tone sounds.

Custom-Flex™
Temp Drawer

Use the button to change settings of the Custom-Flex™ Temp Drawer. Refer
to Storage Features.

Ice Maker
Press and hold for 3 seconds to turn ice maker on/off. When indicator is lit, ice
maker is on. When indicator is not lit, ice maker is in the Off state and stops
making ice. While off, ice dispensing can continue as long as there is ice in the
bucket. When ice maker is off and ice is dispensing, indicator blinks.

Freeze Boost
Prior to grocery shopping, activate Freeze Boost to lower the temperature and
freeze food faster. Freeze Boost stays active for up to 24 hours before auto‐
matic deactivation. You can turn it off manually by pressing Freeze Boost. This
restores the freezer to the previous temperature setting.

Press either the + or - to adjust to desired temperature setting.
The temperatures range from -6°F (-21°C) to +6°F (-15°C).

Door Open
If the door is left open for 5 minutes or more, the Door Open indicator illumi‐
nates and the audible alert is on. Press the Door Open button or close the door
to turn off the alert. If the door is left open for 5 minutes, the interior light turns
off.

Power Outage
After a power outage, the indicator lights up, and a tone sounds. Press any
button to silence the tone.

Adjusting Temp
It illuminates during temperature adjustments and remains lit until the refrigera‐
tor and freezer reach the set temperatures. Press either + or - to adjust the
temperature. The set temperature is reached within 24 hours.

Replace Air Fil‐
ters
It illuminates every 6 months or when filter needs replacing. Replace the filter.
Press and hold Reset Air Filters button for 3 seconds to deactivate the warning
on the display. Refer to Filter Replacement.

Replace Water
Filter
It illuminates every 6 months or after dispensing 120 gallons of water. Replace
the filter. Press and hold Reset Water Filter button for 3 seconds to deactivate
the warning. Refer to Filter Replacement.
