3.1 COMPONENT DESCRIPTIONS
This section provides a general overview of the components in the officer’s compartment. The
components are discussed in detail in later sections of the manual.
MAIN CONSOLE
The main console is the primary workspace for the officer’s compartment. The console is located
at the front of the compartment. Mounted on the console are controls and indications for the
various systems of the SkyWatch. The center of the console is a hinged storage area which is also
used as an equipment bay (e.g. DVR, if equipped). A DC circuit breaker panel, 12 VDC outlet, and
PA system (if equipped) are mounted to the front of the console.
LIGHTING CONTROL PANEL
The light control panel operates the on/off state of the four flood lights, cabin dome light and the
blue strobe light on SkyWatch.
MONITORS
The 7” monitor on the lower left side of the console is standard equipment and is used to view the
under-cab camera. The monitor above the console is an optional 24” flat panel screen that comes
with optional equipment.
12 VDC, USB AND E-NET OUTLET
The 12 VDC USB outlet allows operators to connect and operate 12 VDC auxilliary devices (e.g.
radio or cell phone chargers). An optional E-Net Outlet is available.
DC CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL
The DC breaker panel, located on the front of the main console, contains between 8 and 11 circuit
breakers to protect the various system components. See the circuit breaker table in the appendix
for more information.
AC CONTROLS (LOCATED LEFT SIDE ON OVERHEAD PANEL)
The air conditioner controls operate the roof-top air conditioner.
UP/DOWN MOMENTARY SWITCH
The switch is the primary control for raising and lowering the officer’s compartment.
GENERATOR REMOTE START AND FUEL GAUGE
Remote start allows the operator to start the generator from inside the cab.
