11. TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING: Prior to troubleshooting, turn the machine off, disconnect it from the power supply and wait
for it to come to a complete stop.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The motor will not start
No power supply Check the power supply.
Faulty power cord
To check, inform yourself at an authorised
service centre
Fuse against overloading
was activated
Wait until the machine cools down and press
the fuse button.
The motor can be heard, but
is not working
The cutting roller is blocked
Turn off the machine.
Switch the forward/reverse switch to reverse
rotation.
Turn the machine on until the blockage is
cleared.
Again turn the machine off.
Switch back to the forward rotation.
Malfunction of a capacitor
Take the machine to an authorised service
centre for repair.
The shredded material is not
being pulled into the shredder
The reverse rotation direction
is set.
Turn the machine off and switch the rotation
direction using the switch.
The shredded material is
jammed in the filling funnel
Turn the machine off. Switch the forward/
reverse switch to reverse rotation.
Turn on the machine to release the shredded
material, remove undesired material.
Turn the machine off again.
Switch back to the forward rotation.
The shredded material is too
soft or wet
Push the material into the shredder
Incorrectly set counter-blade
/ cutting roller
Set the counter-blade as described in "Setting
up and working with the shredder".
In the event that the cutting roller / counter-
blade is heavily worn out, replace it.
The shredded material is not
cleanly chopped up
The counter-blade is not set
properly
Set the counter-blade as described in the
previous paragraph
The machine turns on but is
blocked even by a small load
and is soon shut off by the
motor protection switch.
The extension cord is too
long or the cross-section of
its wires is too small.
The power socket is too far
from the power source or the
cross-section of the wires in
the power cord is too small
Check that the wire cross-section of the
extension cord is at least 1.5 mm
2
, and no
longer than 25 m. If a longer power cord is
used then the minimum wire cross-section is
2.5 mm
2
