5. Configuration of the EX-6003HMVS(-PoE)
5. Add and connect device(s): The following buttons are provided for configuring your
USB devices. Once connected, the USB devices are added to your system.
Add Device: Registers the selected USB device in the Windows registry so that it is then
available for connection.
Connect: Establishes a connection with the USB device and activates it. Please note
that the connection is not established automatically after a system restart.
Connect Forever: In contrast to the „Connect” button mentioned above, this button is
used to connect the USB device “forever”, even if the system is restarted.
Disconnect: Terminates the connection with the USB device.
Remove Device: Removes the USB device.
Show Added Devices: Displays all registered USB devices.
6. Check the devices connected via USB: USB devices are usually plug-and-play
devices, i.e. they should be ready for use as soon as they are connected, as they work
via the local USB bus. To check this, right-click on the Windows logo and select “Device
Manager” from the menu. Make sure that the USB devices have been recognized and
are working properly.
7. Windows GUI and web-based configuration program: There are 2 ways to configure
the device server, one via the Windows GUI, the other via the browser. Use the default
password “admin” to access both. After you have made changes, you must click on
“Submit” or “Save Changes” to apply them.
