11 Putting into operation
Clean the appliance before commissioning to remove any residues from production. Open
the door and wipe out the drum with a damp cloth, place non-sensitive laundry items
inside and leave the appliance to run for at least 30 minutes.
During the first few drying cycles, there may be a slight odour because dust residues
(caused by storage and transport) burn on the heating elements. This poses no risk to
the laundry.
➢ The dryer may only be operated if an exhaust air hose is
installed and sufficient room ventilation is ensured.
➢ Follow the instructions in the chapter Installing the exhaust air
hose

Close the door after each drying process to prevent children from climbing into the
tumble dryer or hiding objects in it, and to prevent small animals from getting in.

Note that internal parts of the appliance heat up to 60°C during drying. Do not touch
these parts until they have cooled down.
11.1 Sorting the laundry
Sort the laundry according to care labelling.
The care labels mean:
Dry laundry in this appliance that is suitable for tumble drying in accordance with the
care labels.
➢ Do not put any laundry in the appliance that is unsuitable for the appliance
according to the care label.
➢ Do not dry new coloured laundry together with light-coloured laundry as the
textiles could stain.
➢ Silk or woollen textiles are not suitable for tumble drying.
➢ Do not dry any products containing rubber, latex or foam rubber.
