Adjusting Print Quality
If your print quality declines, you may need to run a utility to clean or align the print head.
If running these utilities does not solve the problem, you may need to run a Power Cleaning or clean the
paper or print head path.

Performing Print Quality Adjustment
You can adjust the print quality using the control panel on your product.
1. Make sure there are no errors on the LCD screen.
2. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the product.
3. Press the button, if necessary.
4. Select Maintenance > Print Quality Adjustment .
5. Select Start.
The print quality adjustment pattern prints.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the adjustment pattern.
Note: If scanning fails, make sure the paper is properly aligned with the corner mark and not folded,
then select Scan Again.
Note: If scanning fails and the print quality adjustment printout was a blank sheet, select Cancel and
follow the on-screen instructions.
If the print quality does not improve after performing the print quality adjustment, perform all available
printhead adjustments. See the links below.
