13. Repeat the previous steps as necessary for each ink tank you need to refill.
14. Close the ink tank cover, then close the scanner unit using both hands.
Note: The scanner unit is designed to close slowly and resist a little as a precaution against injuring
your fingers. Continue to close the scanner unit even if you feel some resistance.
15. Press the start button , then follow the on-screen instructions to reset the ink level for the colors
you refilled.
Even if you do not refill ink up to the upper line on the ink tank, you can continue using the product. To
keep your product operating at its best, however, fill ink tank up to the upper line and reset the ink level
immediately.

Maintenance Box Replacement
The maintenance box stores surplus ink that gets collected during printing or print head cleaning. To
prevent ink leakage from the maintenance box, the printer is designed to stop printing when the
absorbing capacity of the maintenance box has reached its limit. Whether and how often this is required
will vary according to the number of pages you print, the type of material that you print on, and the
number of cleaning cycles that the printer performs. When you see a message on the LCD screen, follow
the on-screen instructions to replace the maintenance box.
