Cooking tips
Here are some tips on how to cook and bake using the oven.
Cooking food
You want to cook according to your own recipe. Try to use settings of similar recipes first and adjust the
settings based on the results.
How to calculate the oven settings. Choose the settings next to the roast weight and change
the time slightly. Use a food probe if possible to detect the
temperature inside the meat.
Suitable cookware Any heat-resistant cookware can be used. It is not
recommended to allow aluminium cookware to come into
contact directly with foods, especially if the food is sour.
The food is good looking but the humidity inside is too
high.
Select a 10 °C lower temperature. This may lead to a longer
cooking time.
How to keep the oven clean during grilling. Place the tray filled with 2 litre of water at the lowest shelf
level. Nearly all fluids that drip down from the food placed
on the rack will be collected in the tray.
What happens if fluid is poured into food in the oven
during the baking or cooking process.
The fluid will boil and steam will arise as a normal physical
process. Be careful with hot steam. If the fluid contains
alcohol, the boiling process will be quicker and can lead to
flames in the cavity. Make sure, that the oven door is
closed during such kind of processes. Control the baking or
cooking process carefully. Open the door very gentle and
only if necessary.
