Installation - ENGLISH 31
DANGER!
There is a danger of physical injury due to sharp edges during the installation of the product.
DANGER!
• Never turn on a malfunctioning product. If the product is malfunctioning, broken or has a cracked
surface, pull the power plug, switch off the circuit breaker and contact the support.
• A malfunctioning product may cause electric shock.
• To ensure your safety, the electric connection must be made by a qualified electrician. The plug must
be connected to an earthed socket.
• Any changes to the electrical wiring in your home must only be made by a qualified electrician.
Before installing the hob
Installation requirements:
• Make sure that the work surface is square and level, and no structural parts interfere with space requirements.
• Make sure that the work surface is made of a heat-resistant and insulated material.
• If the hob is installed above an oven, make sure that the oven has a built-in cooling fan.
• The installation must comply with all clearance requirements and applicable standards and regulations.
• Make sure there is a good isolating switch in the permanent wiring that completely cuts off the power supply from the
electricity network. The switch must be installed in a way that follows local wiring rules and regulations.
• Make sure that the isolating switch is of an approved type and provide a 3 mm air gap contact separation in all poles
(or in all active phase conductors if the local wiring rules allow for this variation of the requirements).
• Make sure that the isolating switch is easy to reach after the hob is installed.
• If you are unsure about the installation, ask the local building authorities and look at the by-laws.
• Make sure that the wall surfaces around the hob are heat-resistant and easy to clean (for example, use ceramic tiles).
• Make sure the connection parameters of the product (fuse rating, voltage and frequency) match the mains power
supply. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
• Use 1 fuses with a rating of 16 A.
• The usage voltage of the product is 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz (2L, N, E).
Before connecting the hob to the mains power supply
The hob must be connected to the mains power supply only by a qualified person.
• Check that the domestic wiring system is suitable for the power used by the hob.
• Make sure the connection parameters of the product (fuse rating, voltage and frequency) match the mains power
supply. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
• To connect the hob to the mains power supply, do not use adapters, reducers, or branching devices. They may cause
overheating and fire.
• The power cord must not touch any hot parts and must be positioned so it does not get hotter than 75 °C at any point.
After installing the hob
When the installation is complete (see section ), make sure that the following installation requirements are followed.
Installation requirements:
• Make sure that the power cord cannot be reached through cupboard doors or drawers.
• Make sure that there is a good flow of fresh air from outside the cabinetry to the bottom of the hob.
• If the hob is installed above a drawer or cupboard space, make sure there is a thermal protection barrier below the
bottom of the hob.
• Make sure that the isolating switch is easy to reach after the hob is installed.
Connect the mains power
Before installation, see section "Safety during installation", page 5 and section "Installation options and requirements",
page 30.
