To adjust the water softener level, follow these steps:
1. If you need to determine the water hardness level. See section "Determine the water hardness level", page 18.
2.
Touch to turn on the machine.
3.
Touch and hold for 3 seconds to enter water softener setup mode.
4.
Touch and hold and until r3 is displayed.
NOTE! The default setting is r3.
5.
Touch to cycle through the available water hardness levels.
6.
Touch to confirm and to exit the water softener setup mode.
7. Close the door.
Determine the water hardness level
To improve the washing, rinsing, and drying performance of your determine the local water hardness level. To improve the
washing, rinsing, and drying performance of your dishwasher, ensure that the water softener level is set to the hardness
of the water in your area.

1. Unpack the test strip.
2. Open the water tap and let the water flow for about 1 minute.
3. Submerge the test strip in the water for 1 second.
4. Remove the test strip from the water, shake it, and wait for 1 minute.
5. Check the table above to see the water hardness level.
6. Make the necessary adjustment according to the test strip result, see section "Adjust the water softener level", page
17.
Run an empty load
Make sure that the machine is installed properly.
1. Plug in the power cord.
