Cleaning the Hook Area
Clean the hook area at least once a month.
z Turn the power switch off and unplug the machine.
Remove the needle plate (refer to page 26).
Remove the needle and presser foot.
Take out the bobbin and bobbin holder.
q Bobbin holder
x Clean the bobbin holder with a lint brush.
Wipe the bobbin holder both inside and outside with a
soft cloth.

c Clean the feed dog and auto thread cutter device with
the lint brush.

v Clean the hook race with a soft cloth.

WARNING:
Turn the power switch off and unplug the machine
before cleaning.
Do not dismantle the machine in any way other than
as explained in this section.
CAUTION:
Do not store the machine in a high-humidity area, near
a heat radiator, or in direct sunlight. Store the machine
in cool dry place.
Clean the outside of the machine with a soft cloth.
Do not use chemical solvents.

b Insert the bobbin holder so that the knob fits next to
the stopper in the hook race.
Insert the bobbin.
Attach the needle plate, presser foot and needle.
