Remove side service cover
Remove air lter cover clips
The side service cover is located on the handle side of the
generator. Remove the 2 bolts around the service cover with
an 8 mm socket wrench and remove the side service cover.
The air lter cover is located toward the bottom of the
engine. Remove both air lter cover clips.

Remove air lter cover
Remove the air lter cover and sponge-like element from the
casing.
Routine maintenance of the air cleaner helps maintain proper
airow to the carburetor. Check that the air cleaner is free of
excessive dirt after every use.
CAUTION: Improper maintenance may cause
less air to enter the engine or dirty air to enter
the engine causing overheating and engine
wear.
