Instructions
Fit the crankshaft turning tool 1. Turn the crankshaft to TDC for cylinder 1.Fit the camshaft
locking pins 2 and turn as shown, The pin of the special tool should be in line with the center of
the camshaft
If the locking tools do not fit, adjust the valve timing: Loosen the camshaft gearwheel bolts.
Right- Left hand bank, The pin of the special tool should be in line with the center of the
camshaft. Remove the blanking plug and install the crankshaft locking tool, 3 Note: The crank-
shaft may be turned backwards and forwards slightly, to allow the tool to fit. Left- hand bank:
Turn the tensioner anti-clockwise until the locking pin fits
Lock the tensioner. 4 . Remove the camshaft locking pins,chain tensioner,chain guide rail,cam-
shaft gearwheel and chain. Right-hand bank: Slowly compress the tensioner. Lock the tensioner.
5 .Remove the camshaft locking tool,chain tensioner. Remove the timing chain together with the
camshaft gearwheel. Camshaft turning tool may be used when re-installing 6
