3. Purpose of the device
The DED7933 hand satin machine is designed for processing such as
satin-finishing, structuring, polishing, brushing, smoothing, de-burring or
deburring of steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metal surfaces. It is
also possible to machine various types of wood, cleaning them and giving
them structure (characteristic grooves and grooves in the material).
It is permissible to use the device in renovation and construction work,
repair workshops, amateur work, subject to the conditions of use and
permissible working conditions contained in the operating instructions.
4. Restriction on use
The appliance may only be used in accordance
with the ‘Permitted operating conditions’ below.
The product must not be used for wet sanding. The product must not be
used to process materials that are harmful to health or flammable (e.g.
asbestos, magnesium).
Unauthorised changes to the mechanical and
electrical design, any modifications, maintenance
operations not described in the operating instructions will be
treated as illegal and will result in the immediate loss of warranty
rights and the declaration of conformity will become invalid.
Misuse or use not in accordance with the operating instructions will result
in immediate loss of warranty rights.
Permitted operating conditions
S1 - continuous operation and others.

Information on vibrations and noise
The combined value of the vibration ah and the measurement uncertainty
were determined in accordance with the standard EN 62841-1 and are
given in the table.
Noise emissions were determined in accordance with the standard EN
62841-1, and values are given in the table above.
Noise can cause hearing damage, always wear
hearing protection when working!
The declared total vibration value has been measured according to a
standard test method and can be used to compare one device with
another. The stated vibration level can also be used for a preliminary
vibration exposure assessment.
Vibration levels during actual use of the equipment may differ from the
declared values, depending on the use of the work tools, in particular the
type of workpiece and the need to determine operator protection
measures. To accurately estimate exposure in actual use conditions, all
parts of the work cycle must be taken into account, including periods
when the machine is switched off or when it is switched on but not used
for work.
6. Preparing for use
All operations described in this chapter should be
carried out with the battery disconnected.
1. inserting the auxiliary handle (Fig. B)
Place the shorter part of the handle on the notches in the body of the
appliance, slightly bend the longer part and place it on the notches on
the other side. Tighten (shorter screw on the left, longer screw on the
right as seen from the body of the appliance).
2 Putting the working end on the shaft (fig. A)
Loosen the screw and remove the nut. Slide the wire or nylon brush onto
the shaft) Then put on the cap. Insert the brush locking wedges into the
notches on the shaft. Screw in the screw and tighten with an ampoule
spanner. The screw is tightened in a counterclockwise direction.
3. fitting of extraction adapter (Fig. C)
There is a narrow slot underneath the grinder hood where the rubber cap
with the extraction stub should be placed. A dust extraction nozzle (e.g.
from an industrial hoover) should be fitted to the nozzle.
After preparation, connect the unit to the power supply and run the unit
for about 30 seconds. Check that it does not vibrate or oscillate. If the
unit is found to be malfunctioning, remove the working tip and replace it
by inserting it carefully into the shaft and tightening the screw carefully.
Check again.
If the unit continues to vibrate or oscillate, do not operate the unit and
have it serviced.
7. Connection to mains
Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, make sure that the
supply voltage corresponds to the value given on the rating plate.
The supply installation should be made in accordance with the essential
requirements for electrical installations and meet the safety requirements
for use. The parameters for the minimum cross-section of the supply
cable and the nominal value of the fuse depending on the power of the
appliance are given in the table below:
Rated power [W]
Minimum conductor
cross-section [mm

Minimum value of type
C fuse [A]

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. When using
extension cords, ensure that the cable cross-section is not smaller than
required (see table). Arrange the electrical cable so that it is not at risk of
being cut during operation. Do not use damaged extension cords. Check
the condition of the power cable periodically. Do not pull on the power
cord.
8. Switching on the device
Before starting up the unit, it is essential to carry
out the steps described in the section ‘Preparing
for operation’.
To switch on the unit, unlock the switch button and then press the switch.
To improve user comfort, the switch can be left in the on position. The
device will continue to operate until the switch is pressed again.
9. Operation of the device
The satin-finishing machine is designed for processing such as satin-
finishing, structuring, polishing, brushing, smoothing, de-burring or
deburring of steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metal surfaces. With
the satin-finishing machine, the surface can be cleaned of, for example,
burrs, rust, paint, etc., and the workpiece can be textured. Depending on
the rotational speed, a finer or more pronounced structure can be
imparted (characteristic grooves, brushed steel or brushed aluminium
effect, etc.).
The material to be machined should be securely clamped to e.g. a
workbench. The machine operator should wear personal protective
equipment.
Once all the preparatory steps have been completed, the material can be
processed. It is recommended to carry out a test run on the waste
material.
Switch on the machine and allow it to reach maximum speed. Start
machining by applying the brush to the material and moving the machine
back and forth. By using different brush gradations, different degrees of
smoothness of the material are achieved - similar to machining with e.g.
sandpaper.
Do not hold the brush in one place, this can cause excessive material
pick-up.
10. Ongoing maintenance
All maintenance must be carried out with the unit
unplugged.
Clean the entire power tool regularly, paying particular attention to
cleaning the ventilation openings of the power tool.
Keep the device out of the reach of children.
If it is necessary to send the device to a service centre for repair, protect
it from accidental mechanical damage.
Never carry out maintenance work on equipment
that is connected to a power source.
This can cause serious injury or electric shock.
Maintenance of the unit consists of keeping all its components necessary
for normal operation properly clean. No solvents may be used for
cleaning as this may cause irreparable damage to the casing and other
plastic components.
Replacement of electrographite brushes
To replace the brushes, unscrew the brush holder caps. Remove used
brushes, fit new ones. Always replace electrographite brushes in pairs.
