6. Preparing for use
The device is part of the SAS+ALL line, so to use it, a kit
consisting of the device, battery and charger must be
completed. The use of other batteries and chargers is prohibited.
All operations described in this chapter should be carried
out with the battery disconnected.
Remove boom from packaging, check for visible mechanical damage.
Do not use a damaged boom.
Adjusting the length of the boom
To adjust the length of the boom, release the catches (Fig. A, 3), extend or retract
the telescopic tube as required. Tighten the latches, ensure that the telescopic
rivulets are locked.
Inserting the power tool and battery pack
Fit the power tool of your choice into the power tool attachment slot (Fig. A, 1).
Use only for power tools DED7177, DED6984, DED7179, DED7980, DED7181S
of the SAS+ALL line.
Insert any battery pack from the SAS+ALL line into the battery pack socket (Fig. A,
5).
Adjusting the tilt of the power tool
Press the button (Fig. A, 2) and change the angle of the power tool socket. Release
the button, thus locking the angle of the tilt.
A shoulder strap can be used to make work easier. The belt can be fitted to the
telescopic eye rings on the tubes.
7. Switching on the device
Przed uruchomieniem urządzenia bezwzględnie wykonać
czynności opisane w rozdziale „Przygotowanie do pracy”.
The handle of the appliance has an on/off switch (Fig. A, 6) and a button to prevent
accidental switching on (Fig. A, 7). To switch on the appliance, press the safety
switch button and then press the switch button. The power tool will continue to
operate until the switch button is released.
8. Operation of the device
If the battery gets hotter than 40°C, stop operation and
wait for the battery to cool down.
When operating the device, all safety rules and
instructions described in the safety conditions must be
strictly observed..
Start working after connecting the battery and the power tool. Always hold the
extension arm with both hands, with your right hand on the main handle with the
switch and your left hand on the EVA-covered part of the telescopic tube. Make
sure you are in a stable position.
Carry out the work depending on the connected power tool (secateurs DED7177 or
chain saws DED6984, DED7179, DED7980, DED7181S from the SAS+ALL line
according to the instructions in the manual for the selected power tool).
After finishing work, release the switch lock button, disconnect the power tool and
the battery.
9. Ongoing maintenance
All maintenance must be carried out with the unit
unplugged.
Avoid charging the battery pack immediately after intensive use. Due to the
discharge phenomenon, do not store the battery pack completely discharged, as it
may then discharge below a critical level and become permanently damaged.
Therefore, when not in use, the battery should be stored partially charged (to
approx. 40%). The battery should be charged before it is completely discharged.
Batteries should be stored at a temperature of 10-30°C. Batteries stored at low
temperatures lose capacity more quickly.
For how to charge the battery pack, refer to the instructions for the battery pack and
charger in the SAS+ALL series.
Keep the device out of the reach of children.
If it is necessary to send the device to a service centre for
repair, protect it from accidental mechanical damage and remove the batteries from
the charger socket.
How to dismantle the battery
To remove the battery pack, grasp the unit by the handle and then press the release
button on the front of the battery pack. Slide the battery pack out of the socket. To
fit the battery pack, slide the battery pack into the battery slot and then press down
until the handle latch engages.
Attachment, tool replacement
Once the tool has been clamped, make sure it has been clamped correctly: lay the
power tool horizontally and try to eject the clamped tip. If it cannot be ejected, it
means that it has been clamped correctly.
Maintenance of the appliance
Maintenance includes servicing of the equipment including accessories, i.e. the
battery and charger..
Never carry out maintenance work on equipment that is
connected to a power source.
This can cause serious injury or electric shock. The battery must be removed from
the battery socket before maintenance.
Maintenance of the unit consists of keeping all its components necessary for normal
operation properly clean. No solvents may be used for cleaning as this may cause
irreparable damage to the casing and other plastic components.
The battery must not be cleaned with water as this may cause internal short circuits
leading to permanent damage.
Before each start-up:
- Check that the engine vents are not obstructed or dirty. If necessary, expose/clean
with a cloth slightly dampened with water.;
After each use:
- Disconnect the battery to avoid accidental activation by unauthorised persons or
during handling.
