OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
DEFROST DRAIN
• Place a shallow pan beneath the drain
outlet at the front of the freezer.
• Pull the drain outlet plug forward to
expose the drain hole in the plug shaft
(see Fig.1).
• Rotate the plug so that the plug is facing
straight down into the shallow pan. The
arrow on the plug will also face straight
down (see Fig.2).
• Carefully pry up and remove the interior
defrost drain plug inside the freezer (see
Fig.4).
• Defrost water will drain out through the
hole in the outside drain plug (see Fig.3).
• When defrosting and cleaning are
complete, replace the drain plug and reset
the drain outlet plug.
DEFROSTING
The freezer should be defrosted twice a year or when roughly a 1/4 inch
layer of frost has formed on the cabinet walls. Before defrosting unplug
the power cord. Remove all contents and leave the lid open.
After defrosting is complete, set the temperature control to maximum for
2 to 3 hours before returning to the desired temperature setting.
NOTE: Never use electrical appliances during defrosting. Do not
use pointed or sharp objects to remove frost as this will damage the
refrigerant lines. If these lines are accidentally pierced it will render the
freezer inoperable and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
If the frost is soft, remove it by using a plastic scraper (included in the
User Manual bag). If the frost is glazed and hard, defrost as per below.
