INFORMATION
If the total additional refrigerant amount was reached in
step 4 (by pre-charging only), record the amount of
refrigerant that was added on the additional refrigerant
charge label provided with the unit and attach it on the
back side of the front panel.
Perform the test procedure as described in
"17Commissioning"[437].
Charging refrigerant
5 After pre-charging, connect valve A to the refrigerant charge
port and charge the remaining additional refrigerant through this
port. Open all outdoor unit stop valves. At this point, valve A
must remain closed!
INFORMATION
For a multi outdoor unit system, it is not required to
connect all charge ports to a refrigerant tank.
The refrigerant will be charged with ±22 kg in 1 hour time
at an outdoor temperature of 30°CDB or with ±6kg at an
outdoor temperature of 0°CDB.
If you need to speed up in case of a multiple outdoor
system, connect the refrigerant tanks to each outdoor unit.
NOTICE
▪ The refrigerant charging port is connected to the piping
inside the unit. The unit's internal piping is already
factory charged with refrigerant, so be careful when
connecting the charge hose.
▪ After adding the refrigerant, do not forget to close the
lid of the refrigerant charging port. The tightening
torque for the lid is 11.5 to 13.9N•m.
▪ In order to ensure uniform refrigerant distribution, it
may take the compressor ±10 minutes to start up after
the unit has started operation. This is not a malfunction.
14.4.6 Step 6a: To automatically charge
refrigerant
INFORMATION
The automatic refrigerant charging has limits as described
below. Out of these limits, the system cannot operate the
automatic refrigerant charging:
▪ Outdoor temperature: 0~43°CDB.
▪ Indoor temperature: 10~32°CDB.
▪ Total indoor unit capacity: ≥80%.
When " " or " " starts flashing (ready for charging), push
BS2 within 5 minutes. Open valve A. If BS2 is not pushed within 5
minutes, a malfunction code will appear:

Heating operation " " will be flashing. Push BS2 to
restart the procedure.
Cooling operation Malfunction code " " will appear. Push
BS1 to abort and restart the procedure.

Push BS1 to finish the automatic
charging function procedure. The
ambient conditions are favourable to
execute the test run.

BS1 to finish the automatic charging
procedure.
INFORMATION
In case a malfunction code occurred during this automatic
charging procedure, the unit will stop and indicate " "
flashing. Push BS2 to restart the procedure.
INFORMATION
▪ When a malfunction is detected during the procedure
(e.g, in case of closed stop valve), a malfunction code
will be displayed. In that case, refer to "19.1 Solving
problems based on error codes" [4 38] and solve the
malfunction accordingly. Resetting the malfunction can
be done by pushing BS1. The procedure can be
restarted from "Step 6a: To automatically charge
refrigerant"[429].
▪ Aborting the automatic refrigerant charge is possible by
pushing BS1. The unit will stop and return to idle
condition.
14.4.7 Step 6b: To manually charge refrigerant
INFORMATION
The manual refrigerant charge operation will automatically
stop within 30 minutes. If charging is not completed after
30 minutes, perform the additional refrigerant charging
operation again.
INFORMATION
▪ When a malfunction is detected during the procedure
(e.g., in case of closed stop valve), a malfunction code
will be displayed. In that case, refer to "Error codes
when charging refrigerant" [4 30] and solve the
malfunction accordingly. Resetting the malfunction can
be done by pushing BS3. The procedure can be
restarted from "Step 6b: To manually charge
refrigerant"[429].

pushing BS3. The unit will stop and return to idle
