Section 3 - Conguration

Disk Diagnostic

Click the Disk Diagnostic icon in the Disk Management window or the Disk Diagnostic link in the left window to congure

the Disk Diagnostic. This window is used to run a SMART (Self-Monitoring Analysis, and Reporting Technology) or Scan test.

The hard drive is grayed out if it does not support SMART.

Quick test Click to run a quick SMART test. The test checks the

electrical, mechanical, and read performance of the

hard drive.

Extended test Click to run an extended SMART test. This takes longer

time, but checks more thoroughly and complete than

the quick test.

Schedule Click to congure a scheduled test for the selected

hard drive.

Stop Click to stop a test

Scan Click to scan if there are any errors or there

is any corruption for the le system.

Format Click to format a volume. All data on

the volume will be deleted.
