Understanding your dishwashers features
How your dishwasher cleans
The dishwasher fills with water, covering the filter area at the bottom. Water is
then pumped through the various filter and spray arms, spraying a mixture of
hot water and detergent against the soiled surfaces of your dishes and
silverware. Soil particles are separated and go down the drain as the dirty
water is drained and replaced with clean water. The number of water fills is
determined by the cycle selected.

Cycle times are approximate and will vary with options selected.
Hot water is necessary to activate dishwasher detergent and melt fatty food soils.
