limits
No
matter
what
the
power
ratings are, mechanical limits,
or
what
,s
called
XMAX.
Once
the
speaker has moved
as
far
as
it
can
go
(linear travel)
there
is NO
MORE.
Asking
them
to
move
further
(go
lower
in frequency)
will
ONLY cause speaker
damage. NOT
the
typical "burned" voice coils.
But, instead,
we
are seeing
the
tinsel lead
connections tearing
off
from
the
voice
coil/spider ~onnection.
Not
thermal
damage
(which is
95%
of
ALL speaker failures!)
Our
issue is
strictly
caused
by
over-excursion.
Meaning
the
speaker is
moving
TOO far, and
crossed over TOO LOW!
To
solve
this
problem
...
simply
set
your
High-Pass crossover higher: Below are
our
recommendations. This
will
solve a
lot
of
issues, long terms!
