Adjusting the thread tension

The following pages contain information on how to set the thread tension for all programmes. Adjust the tension by turning the knob until the

mark is at the desired setting.

Adjustments to regulate the thread tension are recommendations only. The type of fabric, the quality

of the thread and the needle width inuence the sewing result. For this reason, it is always best to sew

a test seam to check the interlocking of the threads. It may be necessary to correct the thread tension.

Tip: when testing, the thread colours corresponding to the individual thread tensions should be used. For

example, thread the upper looper with pink thread, the lower looper with yellow thread, etc.

Note: all other settings required for the various programmes (needle position, stitch length, stitch width,

etc.) can be found in the programme summary.

If all tensions are optimally adjusted, the two looper threads will intertwine

at the very edge of the fabric.

If the thread of the left needle (blue) is too loose, increase the tension of the blue thread.

If the thread of the right needle (green) is too loose, increase the tension of the green thread.

If the upper looper thread (pink) is visible on the reverse side of the fabric, increase the tension of the pink thread or reduce the tension of the

yellow thread.
