In the Select Port dialog box,
select TCP/IP, type the IP ad-
dress of the printer, and then
click Receive.
Retrieving the Head Shading Data may take 30 seconds to one minute depending on
the computer/interface configuration used.

When the Head Shading data
has been received by the
computer. The message ap-
pears, as shown in the figure.
● With the printer-computer connection via the parallel port, receiving the Head Shad-
ing data will be impossible, if the parallel interface on the computer's side is set up for
the unidirectional (one-way) communication. Always set up your computer for the bi-
directional (two-way) communication, provided the system allows you the parallel in-
terface configuration.
● The Head Shading data can not be received via a print server.
