3. Fine Adjustment of Nozzle Positions
● Vertical registration scales
The figure below illustrates how ink is ejected from the print heads.
Ink ejection timing for each color can be determined and calibrated using the vertical registration scale
based on the Bk (black) line.
Read the value where a colored line is in perfect alignment with a black one. It is the registration com-
pensation value, which is required for nozzle position adjustment.
Example: The required registration compensation is + 3 dots.
● Horizontal registration scales
Misalignment of the heads can be checked by discrepancies of the color lines from the Bk (black) line
on the horizontal registration.
Read the value where a colored mark is in perfect alignment with a black one. It is the registration com-
pensation value, which is required for nozzle position adjustment.
Example: The required registration compensation is - 3 dots.
