2. Head Cleaning
This printer has six print heads, one for each of the six colors. The
heads eject ink onto the paper surface so as to reproduce print images
from a combination of the six colors.
If partial flaws or white streaks are observed in the printed letters, it is
likely that dust or paper particles are stuck on the print heads. Try the
head cleaning procedure following the steps below.
To execute the head cleaning, open the printer Properties dialog box, select the Utility tab, and then click
the Cleaning button, on both the Windows 98/95 and the Windows NT computers.
Wait a few seconds for the printer to start cleaning the print heads.
The "NOW CLEANING" message is shown on the display panel while the cleaning process is under
way. The process is complete when the message switches into "ON LINE".
Another way of executing the head cleaning procedure is by pressing the
CLEANING
key on the operation panel.
