Creating a Loop Phrase
Recording on a Single Track
Here’s how to record and overdub on track 1.
Getting ready to record
1. Connect your microphones and instruments.
2. Adjusts the input/output level (p. 8).
3. Use the [OUTPUT LEVEL] knob to adjust the overall
volume of the RC-505mkll.
4. On the play screen, turn the [1] (MEMORY) knob to
select a memory.
Lit Phrase exists
Unlit No phrase
5. Use the track slider to adjust the volume for the
playback track.
Recording
1. Press the [J/t] button to start recording.
The [J/t] button lights red.
2. Sing/speak into your mic or play your
instrument to input audio.

Playback
1. Press the [J/t] button.
The [J/t] button lights green.
The recorded phrase plays as a loop.

Overdubbing
1. Press the [J/t] button to start overdubbing.
The [J/t] button lights yellow.
2. Record by overdubbing the audio (your
performance) onto the phrase that’s playing
back in a loop.

Repeat as many times
as necessary.

1. Press the [9] button.
The [J/t] button goes dark.
If you want to keep the recorded phrase, save it
in a memory (p. 12).
Undo/Redo
1. Press the [UNDO/REDO] button to make it light.

2. Press the [J/t] button of the track you want to undo/
redo.
3. Press the [UNDO/REDO] button once more to return to
the previous state.
