To switch on the appliance, move your hand from
left to right at a distance of 100–150mm in front of
the control panel.

a The appliance starts at fan setting 1 and the lighting
switches on.

To increase the fan setting, move your hand in front
of the control panel again from left to right. At fan
setting 3, the appliance switches back to fan setting
1.

Move your hand in front of the control panel from
right to left to activate the delayed fan run-on.
a During fan run-on, the
symbol flashes and the ap-
pliance switches off automatically after approx.
3minutes.
a The light switches off at the same time as the appli-
ance.

Move your hand in front of the control panel from
right to left again during fan run-on to switch off the
appliance immediately.
7.5 Lighting
Switching the lighting on and off
The lighting can be switched on and off independently
of the ventilation system.
1.
Press
Light: The lighting is switched on.
2.
Press
Light a second time: The lighting switches
to dimming mode.
3.
Press
Light a third time: The lighting is switched
off.

8 Cleaning and servicing
To keep your appliance working efficiently for a long
time, it is important to clean and maintain it carefully.
8.1 Cleaning interval
Oily or greasy deposits may catch fire.
1. Clean the inlet grid and oil collector once in
2weeks.
2. Perform the self-cleaning function on regular interval
when Auto Clean glows continuously.
8.2 Emptying the oil collection container
Note:The oil collection container must be emptied
when it is two-thirds full.
WARNING‒Risk of burns!
The accessible parts may become hot when used with
cooking appliances.
▶ Never touch these hot parts.
▶ Keep children at a safe distance.
The appliance becomes hot during operation.
▶ Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

Remove the oil collection container from underneath
the appliance.
2.
After emptying, push the oil collection container
completely back onto the holders on the left and
right of the appliance.
8.3 Auto Clean
Note:
If Auto Clean glows continuously, it is neces-
sary to run the appliance's self-cleaning function.

Switch off all appliance functions except for the
lighting.
2.
Before carrying out self-cleaning, empty the oil col-
lecting container and remove any dirt from the appli-
ance.
3.
Press and hold
Auto Clean for approx.
3seconds to start self-cleaning.
a The appliance heats up and the grease residues dry
in the oil collecting container.
a During self-cleaning, the auto clean icon in the appli

Appliance functions other than lighting cannot be
used during self-cleaning.
a Do not leave the appliance unattended during self-
cleaning.
a Self-cleaning lasts approx. 9minutes and ends auto-
matically.
