Notes on the ECO program and general energy-saving tips
• In the "Eco 40-60" program, normally soiled cotton laundry that is specified as washable at 40°C-60°C can
be washed together in the same operating cycle. The program is used to check compliance with EU legis-
lation on eco-design in accordance with DIN-EN 60436.
• The most efficient programs in terms of energy and water consumption are generally those that perform at
lower temperatures and longer duration. If possible, avoid selecting high washing temperatures.
• Loading the household washing machine or household washer-dryer up to the capacity specified for the
respective programs helps to save energy and water. Use the maximum capacity of the respective wash-
ing program.
• Noise emissions and residual moisture are influenced by the spin speed: the higher the spin speed in the
spin cycle, the higher the sound emissions and the lower the residual moisture.
• Clean the filter regularly to avoid excessive washing and high power consumption.
• Ventilate the room well. The room temperature should not exceed +35°C.
Program brief description
Cotton
Recommended for hard-wearing, heat-resistant cotton textiles, such as bed and table
linen, underwear or towels. The washing time and the number of rinse cycles are auto-
matically adjusted depending on the load.
Cotton+prewash
Here, the clothes are pre-cleaned with an additional water and detergent rinse. This
removes coarse soiling and stains before the actual wash cycle. After the prewash, the
regular cotton program begins.
Eco 40-60
For cleaning normally soiled cotton items that are declared as washable at 40°C or 60°C
in the same wash cycle. The program is used to assess compliance with EU Ecodesign
legislation.
