Step 5 — Move the Range into Position
Remove the wood base with a 1/2” socket or open end
wrench and discard the shipping bolts and brackets. Use
an appliance cart to move the range near the front of the
enclosure. Do not slide it into the cabinet until after
connecting the electrical connections.
Step 6 — Connect Electrical Supply
Observe all local and other codes regarding electrical
connections.
Installation and service must be performed by a
qualied installer, service agency, or utility company.
Installation must comply with all applicable electrical
codes.
1. Remove the electrical box cover to expose the
terminal block. Route the wires through a strain
relief (not supplied) through the bottom of the
electric enclosure. The terminal block allows for a 4-
wire installation.
2. If a four wire connection is used remove and discard
the metal ground strap.
3. Connect green/ground to G.
4. Connect white/neutral to N.
5. Connect red to L1.
6. Connect black to L2.
lmportant: All electrical wiring should be free
and clear. Wires or cables should not be pinched
or otherwise obstructed.
7. Tighten the screws on the strain relief and attach the
electrical cover.
If a power-supply cord kit is used (not included), it shall
be rated 240V, 50 amps. It must include 3 or 4
conductors with closed loop terminals and be marked
for use with ranges with nominal 1-3/8” (35mm)
diameter connection openings. A 4-conductor cord is
required for installations where grounding through the
neutral is prohibited, such as:
a. New branch-circuit installations (1996 NEC),
b. Mobile homes,
c. Recreational vehicles, or
d. In an area where local codes prohibit grounding
through the neutral.
Performance may be compromised if the electrical
supply is less than 240 volts.
Power supply: grounded, 240VAC, 60Hz
Circuit protection: 50 amp dedicated circuit
IMPORTANT: Save these instructions for the local
electrical inspector’s use.
Three-Wire Installation
Move the metal ground strap to positions N and G
as shown below.
a. Connect the white/neutral to G.
b. Connect black to L1.
c. Connect red to L2.
d. Tighten the screws on the strain relief and
attach the electric box cover.
This appliance must be grounded. Do not cut, remove,
or disregard the grounding wire in this appliance. If the
appliance is not grounded, severe shock hazards can
exist.
