> Fit the zigzag foot.
> Set the stitch pattern selector knob to position «F».
> Set the stitch length knob to «S1».
> Set the stitch width to «6».
> Tack the folded edges of two pieces of fabric to a piece of washable lining with a gap of 4mm.
> Lower the presser foot centrally between the edges of the fabric and sew.
> After sewing, remove the lining and tacking thread.
5.5 Edging
Shell Edging with Vari-Overlock Stitch
The Vari-overlock stitch can be used to create a shell edging effect on soft jerseys and fine fabric.
> Fit the zigzag foot.
> Set the stitch pattern selector knob to «H».
> Set the required stitch length.
> Set the required stitch width.
> Fold the edge of the fabric in by about 5mm. Position the fabric under the presser foot so that the
needle goes into the air just past the edge of the fabric on the right-hand side.
