6.3 Fault rectification
Possible faults are described below:
Description of the fault.
2 Possible cause.
1 Remedy.
Fan and lighting do not work.
2 No power supply.
1 Check that the mains cable is connected on both
sides.
2 The breaker may have been tripped or is defective.
1 Check to see if the breaker has tripped.
1 If you use electric circuit breakers, turn the circuit
breaker on again.
1 For other types of fuse, consult a qualified electrician.
The fan does not work.
2 The device is not switched on.
1 Check all power levels.

2 The device is connected to a safety device. The safety
device detects a critical under-pressure.
1 Open a window.
1 Wait until the air pressure returns to normal.
The lighting does not work.
2 The device software requires a restart.
1 Interrupt the power supply for approx. 10 seconds.
2 The lamp has blown.
1 Please consult the customer services.
Smells occur during operation.
2 The filter filling is used up.
1 Change the filter filling.

Poor device performance.
2 The recirculated air filter is clogged.
1 Replace the filter filling of the recirculated air filter.

Control panel does not react after being touched several times.
2 The control panel is soiled.
1 Clean the control panel.

2 The device software requires a restart.
1 Interrupt the power supply for approx. 10 seconds.
The smoke can settle on furniture, the fronts of kitchen units and
the ceiling.
2 Smoke development by heating cooking oils and cooking
fats to too high a temperature.
1 Note the smoke point of the cooking oil or fat you
are using. You can obtain this information from the
respective manufacturer.
Moisture in the device.
2 Dripping or splashing water has penetrated the device.
2 Liquid (e.g. from vases, bottles on the device) has
penetrated the device.
1 Immediately shut off the power supply, by removing
the fuse.
1 Make sure that the power supply cannot be
unintentionally reconnected. For example by tasking
a person with ensuring that the fuse/breaker is not
restored/switched on.
1 Ensure that no more liquid can penetrate the device.
1 Allow the device to dry.
1 Have the device checked and repaired by qualified,
specialist personnel prior to using the device again.
