W Follow the safety instructions. Connect both test
probes to the test object.
The voltage tester switch ON automatically from a
voltage of approx. 10 V.
The voltage is displayed by an LED row
3
The 2100-Beta and 2100-Gamma also indicates the
voltage digitally on the LCD screen
9
.
In the case of AC voltages the “+”and “-”LEDs are ON
simultaneously.
The voltage testers feature an LED row with the
voltage indication 12 V, 24 V, 50 V, 120 V, 230 V,
400 V, 690 V.
In the case of DC voltage the polarity of the indicated
voltage refers to the voltage tester test probe
2
.
When the two push buttons
11
are pressed, the
internal load is applied.
In case that 50 V AC or 120 V DC is reached or
exceeded, an audio warning by buzzer occurs.
WOperation duty cycle: Max. 30 s ON / 240 s OFF
Data Hold (2100-Beta / 2100-Gamma)
After pressing the push button
12
for 2 seconds , the
data hold function is activated and replies with a short
sound. The LCD screen shows “the last measured value” and
symbol “HOLD”. The hold function can be deleted manually
by pressing the push button
12
again. The data hold
function is now deactivated and replies with a short sound.
Under data hold mode, the LCD screen will only show
the last saved measured voltage value. No auto refresh of
LCD screen reading under Data Hold mode whether the
voltage tester is connected to energized or non-energized
circuit. The LED voltage indicators
3
will always show the
actual voltage of the circuit under measurement.
Single-pole Phase Test
The single-pole phase test works from an AC voltage
of approx. 100 VAC.
During the single-pole phase test to determine
external conductors, the display function may be impaired
(e.g. with insulating personal protective equipment or at
insulated locations).
WThe voltage indication in single-pole phase test is
not sufficient to assure safety. This function is not suitable
to test for absence of voltage. This always requires a two-
pole voltage test.
Connect voltage tester’s test probe
2
to the test object.
The LED for single-pole phase test is ON in the display
5
depending on the voltage level.
Trip Test of RCD
For voltage tests in systems with RCD (earth leakage circuit
breakers) an RCD can be tripped with a 10 mA or 30mA
nominal leakage current on single phase AC 230 V power
system.
To do this, the voltage is tested between L and PE and
both pushbuttons
11
are pressed simultaneously. The RCD
should trip.
