• The appliance must always be disconnected from the mains in the
absence of supervision and before assembly, disassembly, lling or
emptying the water tank, or for cleaning.
• Do not modify the appliance. Do not replace the connection cable
yourself. If the appliance or the appliance’s power cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service, or an
authorised dealer to avoid hazards.
• Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and storage” chapter.
DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock
• Only use the appliance in closed rooms.
• Never immerse the appliance and the connecting cable in water or other liquids, and en-
sure that they cannot fall into water or get wet.
• If the appliance falls into the water while it is connected to the mains power supply, discon-
nect the power supply immediately! Only then remove the appliance from the water.
• Never touch the appliance and the power cord with wet hands when these components
are connected to the mains.
WARNING – Danger of Injury
• Keep the packaging materials away from children and animals. Danger of suffocation!
There is a risk of scalding due to heat, hot steam or condensation!
• Avoid contact with the rising steam. Do not open the water tank cover during the brewing
process.
• Never place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate, because that can lead to it break-
ing. Do not place the carafe on a hot surface.
• Allow the sieve holder to cool down before emptying it.
• In the interest of your own safety, check the appliance and the connecting cable for damage
each time before using it. Only use the appliance when it is functional.
• Make sure that the connection cable does not pose a tripping hazard. The connection cable
must not hang down from where the appliance is placed to prevent it from being dragged
down.
