informaon presented herein will help you to derive maximum performance from your radio.

European Users should note that operaon of this unit in Transmit mode requires the
operator to have a valid Amateur Radio License from their respecve Countries Amateur Radio Licensing
Authority for the Frequencies and Transmier Power levels that this Radio transmits on. Failure to
comply may be unlawful and liable for prosecuon. At this subject, refer to the “EU” specicaon guide 2014/53/EU.
ATTENTION! When programmin
g the radio, start by reading the factory soware data, and then rewrite
this data with your frequency etc., to a new saved code plug, otherwise errors may occur. You can use the
programming cable with a PC to program the authorized frequency, bandwidth, power, etc. your
programming must comply with your FCC (or EU other country) license cercaon.

PMR446, FRS, GMRS, MURS
You may be tempted to use PMR446 (in Europe) or FRS, GMRS, MURS (in the USA) frequencies. Do note
however that there are restricons on these bands that make this transceiver illegal for use.
