Single Level Installation
In a single level installation, there are no additional switches cascaded from the
first unit. The numbers in the diagram on page 14 correspond to the numbered
steps below (see page 15 for step 2). To set up a single level installation do the
following:
1. Ground the CL6708MW by connecting one end of a grounding wire to the
grounding terminal, and the other end of the wire to a suitable grounded
object.
Note: Do not omit this step. Proper grounding helps to prevent damage to
the unit from surges or static electricity.
2. If you choose to connect an external console to the CL6708MW, connect
the keyboard, monitor and mouse to their respective ports in the External
Console Section. See Console Cable Installation, page 15.
Note: 1. Connecting an external console is optional.
2. The CL6708MW only supports USB keyboards and mice.
3. For each of the computers you are installing, use a KVM cable set (listed
in Cables, page 4) to connect any available KVM port to a computer's
keyboard, video and mouse ports. See Cabling Diagrams, page 15.
4. Plug the power cord into the CL6708MW power socket and into a AC
power source.
After you have completed the installation procedures, power on the
CL6708MW (see Powering Off and Restarting, page 22, for details). Once the
CL6708MW is powered on, power on the computers in the installation.
